~Bonjour! Hola! Guten Tag! Whether you greet someone in French, Spanish or German it’s important that we recognise their language and culture by just saying a simple hello or how are you.

The English language is fast becoming the most commonly spoken language all around the world so it would be excellent if we could reach out to other countries by means of an event which enables us to embrace different languages in a fun and enriching way.

On Wednesday 26th September 2018 UCLAN are  hosting a European Day of Languages. The day begins at 10am and concludes at 2.30pm. Here is a complete overview of what you can expect :-

Culture talks, career options and tours of the campus and language facilities.
At lunchtime, colourful displays from the  international students can be viewed and visited allowing pupils to sample foreign foods whilst being greeted in a plethora of languages. All visitors will be served a complimentary packed lunch.
During the afternoon, activities continue with engaging talks and multiple taster sessions hosted in a wealth of world languages.

Year 10 and 10 pupils of secondary school education are particularly encouraged to attend, as this will be a great help toward their GCSE exams at the closure of the academic year. Year 12 AS Language students are also encouraged to attend.

Attendance is free and bookings are made on a first come, first served basis. Due to high demand they  can only offer each school/college 20 student places.
