~Definition of heritage :-features belonging to the culture of a particular society, such as traditions, languages, or buildings, that were created in the past and still have historical importance.

It seems fitting then to highlight an event happening this weekend and the following which celebrates the very birthplace of it’s workforce.

Standfast & Barracks is one of the UK’s largest textile printers, specialising in the traditional methods of rotary and flatbed printing. Since its establishment in 1923 Standfast boasts a rich history waiting to be unravelled.

 For 95 years Standfast & Barracks has predominantly printed textiles for interior design including drapery and soft furnishings. It’s  innovative technologies, expertise and heritage attracts brands from across the world.

On Saturday 8th  and Saturday 15th September between 10am and 4pm you could be one of many to experience this Heritage Open Day. Here are a number of things you could look forward to whilst attending :-

 Tour of the 160-year-old factory guided by one of our specialists
 Explore the site's original use as a Wagon Works and as a World War 2 internment camp
Take a seat and enjoy a seminar discussing the history of Standfast & Barracks examining the Sundour Morton reign
Finally you could enter the Archive, consisting of around 10,000 objects dating back to 1770.

Please note pre-booking: Required - You must pre-book a tour or seminar. To do so please email :-vanessa_jones@standfast-barracks.com. Booking closes today ( September 7th so please be immediate with your booking) The site you are visiting is a working factory. We do our best to ensure the factory is a safe space but please take extra care when going around. A maximum intake of 12 people is required for the tour which last up to an hour.
