~To be able to speak about serious subjects with a light undertone isn’t an easy task. Now try memorizing specific subject matter and turning those lines of importance  into a piece of performance poetry.

That’s exactly how well known performance poet Louise Fazackerely has carved out her successful career. Having conquered the radio waves of BBC Radio 1, 3 and 4 and having her work published in The Guardian, Louise now sets her sights on winning over the crowd in Preston.

She’s going to be performing her collection of work under the title ‘ Bird Street and Other Unlikely Love Stories’. It will take place this Thursday 19th April between the hours of 8pm -9.30pm at The Ham and Jam Coffee Shop, 50, Lancaster Road, Preston. Cost of admission is £5. You can buy tickets online by logging on to :- www.wegottickets.com/event/434124

Louise’s subject matter varies from Jarvis Cocker Britpop era to political references in  Afghanistan. Her fans are made up of punks, the alternative and those who don’t even like poetry. Here’s what two of her critics thought of her recent performance,

‘A great performer' - Will Self
'A voice that tingles with promise' - Ian McMillan.

Doors open at 7pm with the Louise performing her work at 8pm.

She is currently on tour with John Cooper Clarke. Here are his touching words about this unique performer,

‘A class act... I love her, you will too’ - John Cooper Clarke.
