The Voice UK 2017 Audition Venue Date And Time

~Five years ago a singing competition that was based on the vocal alone and not the appearance was unheard of in Britain. It had already been a hit abroad with The Voice of Holland. The BBC scheduled it’s first series on 24th March 2012 and now ‘The VoiceUK has been running for the past four seasons, it is currently in it’s fifth and last with the BBC. As of next year, 2017 ITV will make it a regular feature of their entertainment programme as well as The Voice Kids, a spin off series planned to run on ITV2.
The format is simple. Four judges have their heads towards the audience and the act is left to sing their song in it’s entirety until one or more of the judges have pushed their button and spinned round on their chair. This is known as the blind auditions.
The competition progresses to the point of the judges having their selected team and they have to battle it out with another singer. The more vocally polished performer wins the round and thus progresses to the knockout stage. At this point only a mere number of acts are left in the judges category it’s a brutal stage but someone will have to leave the competition.
The show advances to the ultimate point being the live show and eventually the overall winner of the show is announced.
The current series is in the battle round and is aired on Saturday evenings at 7pm. The next series however, is beginning the audition stage quite soon. If you’re a singer/musician or perform as a duo or trio then get your self down to The Continental Pub on South Meadow Lane Preston, Tuesday 15th March. It kicks off at 9pm. Please be aware of age restrictions. You must be aged 16 years old by 1st October 2016 to enter. Any under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. It’s free to audition but it is first come, first served.
If you do attend the audition at The Continental on the 15th March you’ll no doubt be met by an interesting set of judges who will assess if your suitable for the TV show. On the BBC format there has been a number of judges that have had some very talented singers over the years. The welsh legend Tom Jones. The Script front man Danny O’ Donoghue. Pop Diva Jessie J. Outspoken Rita Ora and Aussie favourite Kylie Minogue. The current strand is made up of music mastermind Will. I am. Kaiser Chiefs front man Ricky Wilson. 80’s legened Boy George and singer songwriter Paloma Faith.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to be judged by the big names in rock and pop then you won’t hesitate to attend the audition at Preston’s cultural hubbub and creative venue The Continental.
