~Never underestimate the power of the open mic formula. Twenty year old Sharon Tembo has finally hit the big time with debut single ‘Running’.  It has gone straight to the top of the charts and the iTunes gospel and Christian charts.

Faith being at the heart of Sharon’s song writing as it is  her strong beliefs that helped pave the way for an exciting 12 track first album.

Tembo studied at Runshaw College in Leyland in her mid teens and it was here where she performed her work as a new and inspiring performer. She also had the opportunity to take part in the many talent contests, open mic nights  and musical events as Runshaw College.

Sharon explains how it took some time before she got the recognition she deserved at the college where she studied,

“In my first year nobody really knew I could sing, but then in my second year Runshaw started putting on open mic nights. People couldn’t get enough and I was performing on each occasion.”

Since leaving Runshaw she has enrolled at De Montford University in Leicester on a biomedical science course. A hectic schedule for Sharon, with music and her studies to take care of.

Her dad helped her secure a recording deal at Chapel Studios in Wimbledon. Knowing that her song writing concepts were to be brought to life in a professional studio was a nerve racking but exciting reality.

The recording producer had one listen of Sharon’s song and he was immediately won over.

Sharon could be the one of the big sounds of 2016 and with highly esteemed musicians such as Sting, Eric Clapton and Britney Spears that the producer has had the pleasure of working with, Sharon Tembo could be the next big name. Watch this space!
