Stereo MCs. Blackburn King Georges Hall. Friday 28th August 2015.

When music fans think of the mid 80s, they may consider the new romantic genre, the flamboyant hairstyles or even Rick Astley!

There was, however one band that made the 1980s cool again and a firm favourite across the hip hop and acid house club scene.

Who am I referring to? It is of course The Stereo MCs. MC meaning ‘master of ceremonies’ so these guys really knew how to vocally project their thoughts into a lyrical context and make it appealing to their fans.

They are probably best known for their top 20 hit single of 1992 ‘Connected’. This became a transatlantic best seller and cemented their status in music royalty.

Thankfully, they are no strangers to the North West and having performed an exhausting 23 dates across Europe in 2014 they’re back in Blackburn, Lancashire on Friday 28th August 2015. The show kicks off at 7.30pm with tickets priced at £16.50. The King Georges Hall will be home to their urban talent. Set in the windsor suit and standing audience.

Why not make an evening of it and have a meal at Blakey’s round the corner. To book tickets for the gig dial  0844 847 1664. To reserve a table at Blakey’s for you and your friends dial 01254 503 228. You can also email the King Georges Hall to make further enquiries about the concert:- events@kinggeorgeshall.com

The King Georges Hall is based at Northgate, Blackburn, BB2,1AA. Be aware however of the one way system round Blackburn town centre as it can get problematic at times.

The band will be joined on stage with guest Jeramiah Ferrari.

The Stereo MCs have been described by the Guiness Rockopedia as “the big boys of British rap”.  Still not convinced? Go see for yourself on Friday 28th August and you’ll see why this band is still important in 2015.
