Tier Three Rules for Lancashire - What it Means For You, Your Family and Friends

Tier Three Rules for Lancashire - What it Means For You, Your Family and Friends

Oct, 19 2020

We’re now seven months into this nightmare called COVID-19 which is probably worse than a Stephen King novel. The government can’t make up their mind what we should and should not be doing and as a nation we’re all growing weary of the teatime bulletin.

Despite this, if you’ve come this far and behaved yourself, every credit to you, your family and friends. You are the ones that deserve a medal for your acts of bravery and commitment to the governments often wayward advice.

Recently, however it appears the North West has been met with some crashing news, we have entered the Tier 3 rules which is especially critical and people must abide be it or their lives will be at stake. But what does that mean for you and I? Let’s have a recap of what those rules cover which will be reviewed every couple of weeks:-
  • People must not socialise with anybody they do not live with, or have formed a support bubble with, in any indoor setting or in any private garden or at most outdoor hospitality venues and ticketed events
  •  People from different households can still meet in an outdoor public space such as a park or beach, the countryside, a public garden or a sports venue, in groups of six or less
  •  All pubs and bars must close, unless they are serving substantial meals
  •  Residents should avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK, and others should avoid staying overnight in the area
  • People should try to avoid travelling outside the very high alert level area or entering the very high alert level area, other than for essential journeys or to travel through as part of a longer journey
  • From today, casinos, bingo halls, bookmakers and betting shops and soft play areas must close and car boot sales will not be permitted
Of course there may be the occasional person that flouts the above rules and they will get their comeuppance from the police but if the majority of us stick close to these rules then we’ll be saving lives and also helping the NHS reduce their workload with the daily intake of covid patients.

So let’s all do out bit and hopefully the cases will slow down and gradually we can return to some kind of normality, whatever that may be…….
