~Church Street, Preston. An assortment of restaurants, cafes, shops and pubs. Yet hidden within the realms of The Minster is a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Each week midday classical concerts take place to relax the mind and calm the body. Performers range from guitarists to classical pianists and in an environment designed to relax and escape.

On Wednesday 10th October you can experience a ‘Baroque Song and Lute Recital’. Delivered by classical trained soprano Gwendolen Martin and lutenist Alex McCartney, they will perform pieces from the programme, "Songs of Devotion, Love, and Betrayal from 17th Century England and Italy".

In addition English composers Byrd, Dowland, Blow, Humfrey, and Purcell, and Italian composers Caccini, Amodei, and Monteverdi will share their musical renditions to an appreciative audience.
