~Five years ago the commercial music world consisted of musicians, singers, composers, songwriters and lyricists. Perhaps riding on the back of T.V.  talent shows  or working it through the open mic circuits. Either way, it has provided a number of commercially led musicians who are still producing music to the present day.

On a more underground level virtuoso marimbist Calum Huggan has been performing his unique style of compositions for some time now. His last appearance in Preston was back in 2013 and now he’s making a return.

The marimba itself is wonderful instrument. It has an idyllic sound and an almost childlike appeal. Quiet and expressive, this instrument tells a story like no other.

On Wednesday 19th September 2018 from 1-2pm is the ‘Marimba Recital at Mid-Day’. It takes place at The Minster, Church Street, Preston. It is £12 admission and refreshments are available upon arrival.

Away from the contemporary traditions of popular music, Calum is striving for a new sound and new fan base to grow and develop his repertoire into a truly mesmerizing performance.
