Brownedge Festival Of Art And Culture / 5/5/18 - 11/5/18

Apr, 26 2018

~The year 2000. It initially seemed like the dawn of a new era. A new century, a creative space called the Millenium Dome and an exciting time in technology where mobile phones and tablets became the cool thing to own. Then, it all went wrong. Terrorism, celebrity deaths and famine and poverty which encouraged another run of Live Aid to seep into the public domain.

But it wasn’t all doom and gloom. Saint Mary’s Brownedge in Bamber Bridge have been exhibiting the local artistic talent for the past 18 years now. These range from self portraits to well known stars of stage and screen.

It’s been a major event for the South Ribble district, and,  throughout it’s 18 year longevity  it has included:-
*Open art competitions,
*Photographic competitions,
*Flower arrangements
*Along with a host of different workshops and events.

This year’s festival formally begins on Saturday 5th May and concludes on Friday 11th May 2018. The official opening begins at 2pm with subsequent events following from there on in.

Events then run throughout the week and can be seen on the dedicated Brownedge Festival website and Facebook page.

A festival running for nearly two decades gives those in Bamber Bridge a chance to showcase their art.
