'May' Book Launch - UCLAN - 6-7.30pm - 11/4/18

Apr, 3 2018

~For the  majority of us we know the day, date and time we wake up each morning. We know where we are in the present stream of time and we feel a sense of contentment when we indulge in a good book.

A person however living with dementia loses their faculties in a gradual process and they begin to forget who they are and who they hold dear to in their life.

Wednesday April 11th 6pm - 7.30pm could be read as just a series of dates and times to the average person. A person with dementia though will repeatedly ask what day and date it is just minutes sometimes seconds after you have told them.

This date though will be in the mind of UCLAN lecturer and writer Dr. Naomi Kruger whose book ‘May’ deals with the delicate subject of dementia and the burden of carrying the past but the freedom to let it go.

The book is set in Preston and it’s UCLAN’S Harrington Building Room 127 where the book will be available to buy as well as exclusive portions of the book to be read out by Naomi herself. She’ll also be answering questions and signing books on the night too.

Wine and nibbles will be available as you soak up the atmosphere of this sophisticated night :-

Wednesday  April 11th  6:00pm – 7:30pm
