The CCG This Week 07.4.17

Apr, 7 2017

It has been another busy week for the CCG UK.  We had a very interesting meeting with a mature student from the University of Central Lancashire in which we discussed ways we could support his MA project.  Ideas bounced around and during the discussion, we covered topics from long-term illness, recovery, using art/hobbies, mindfulness and the countryside as types of therapy.  We finished with a discussion on the plight of various refuges within the UK - and how we could possibly engage and learn more from them

The rest of the week was about supporting the wonderful UCLan Students’ Union.  On Wednesday, we went along and cheered UCLan in their annual multi-sport Varsity match against Edge Hill University.  In a closely fought contest between a multitude of indoor and outdoor sports it all came down the final match of the evening. Edge Hill won the contest with 12 total victories to UCLan’s 11.  A great tournament and I am sure the battle will continue to be close next year. #Varsity2018

Last night the CCG UK attended the UCLan Students’ Union Awards for volunteering.  This was an entertaining evening with plenty of free food and Bucks Fizz as we celebrated the fantastic achievements of the students that have put their precious time and effort into making 2016/17 great for UCLan students!

A fantastic week and roll on Easter…
