Spotlight On CCG Members :- Mr. John Barnett MBE DL

~This week’s Spotlight on CCG members is a highly respected person of the local community. A founder to many distinguished places and has extensive credentials to his name that has garnered him a place in the CCG. One of the North West’s hardest  grafter and dedicated man to his many charities and organisations,  Mr John Barnett MBE DL.


In the early 1990’s John’s first achievement was as founder of the independent local radio station, Blackpool’s Radio Wave. He centred the next 15 years or so of his life in supporting and founding other places in Blackpool such as the influential Business Leaders’ Group and more recently the Carers Centre.


The Blackpool Business Leaders Group was also instituted with his wife Danielle, from there, the two ran the highly successful Stardream group of companies. John is also Patron & founder of the Blackpool Carers Centre & supports many other local and national charities.


In 2000 he was rightly awarded an MBE  and in 2005 he became   Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire.


It is clear and evident that John is a dedicated and hard working individual. His philanthropic work as well as his career prospects confirm the above. His love of  the community is apparent as is his passionate enthusiasm to make a change and to bring about change for the good of the North West region.
