~A South London nurse who attends to patients on a daily basis in a busy hospital amidst stressful NHS working hours seems like an unlikely person to write poetry.

But when she isn’t dealing with bedpans and blood pressures,
Molly Case writes  sharp, observant, intellectual poetry inspired by her nursing career and her contemporary coolness.

Here’s a little background on how she has become a national treasure,

In April 2013 her poem ‘Nursing the Nation’ gained over 350,000 on You Tube in just a couple of months. It was filmed at the Royal College of Nursing, and became the turning point in her career.

From there she appeared in countless magazines and newspapers from The Guardian - Elle Magazine and was named in the Health Service Journal’s Inspirational Women list and the BBC’s 100 Women list.

Her first series of works which chronicles her journey to becoming  a nurse was recently released entitled, ‘Underneath the Roses Where I Remembered Everything'.

Here is what some critics have said about Molly’s work and what it means to them personally,

“Molly Case combines a sharp eye for everyday detail with a rare compassion to create inventive and finely crafted poems that, even as they captivate us with their music and move us with their urgency, are never less than rigorously honest.”
- John Burnside

“Molly’s work connects like that of very few others; it’s finely crafted, beautifully observed, and always compellingly relevant.”
- Musa Okwonga

Having worked with Russell Hogarth and friends last June at Huddersfield New College and at the recent UCLAN Diversity Conference in November 2016 in which she performed her work and delivered a series of workshops, the CCG are delighted to announce she is now our 200th member!
