An Evening With Frank Bruno February 2017 Blackburn King Georges Hall

Oct, 27 2016

~Vulnerable yet fearless, heroic yet humble, funny yet focused. Words that perhaps may describe someone who was once a champion but somehow along the way became unwell yet  still remains an important public figure and maintains his more appealing title as a national treasure.

In the 1980s Frank Bruno became a professional boxer and it was from there that he went on to win 21 consecutive wins. Over the years it’s said that the recurrent blows to the head produced the inevitable breakdown and mental health condition Frank now contends with.

On Friday 17th February 2017 at Blackburn King Georges Hall from 7.30pm onwards Frank talks intimately and no doubt with a little humour to comedian Jed Stone about his life from childhood to his boxing superstardom which helped him win World Championships. To more sensitive issues such as his ongoing battles with mental health and his view on the current trend of boxers today.

‘An Evening with Frank Bruno’ will see Frank talk openly about his personal highs and lows.

It will be in the Windsor suite which is a seated venue. Tickets cost £40 for a VIP meet and greet, £25 for advance purchase and £28 to pay on the door. Please note :-  a service charge will apply to all bookings made with debit/credit cards. PG :- Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. To book tickets dial :- 01254 582 579.

The King Georges Hall is located at Northgate, Blackburn, Lancashire. There are some excellent eating establishments in the centre of Blackburn. Why not google a few and enjoy a nice meal prior to the show.

Far beyond the bravado and the signature laughs lies a man with depth and real compassion. He is also a great ambassador for mental health and is a good reminder that even the most successful well known people can become unwell yet Frank has capitalised on it with great skill and awareness.

Understand the man behind the ring in this intimate and brave interview.
