Preston Models Showcase Work Around The City Centre

May, 24 2016

~It’s true to say that the camera never lies, however, images of models in glossy magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan may have been slightly airbrushed to enhance the sales of their magazines and to promote the fashion accessory the model is wearing.

Locally, looks and the latest clothes go down well with your peer group, influential people such as your lecturer or parents and potential job prospective.

In collaboration with UCLAN’s fashion department aspiring models have been snapped up across well known landmarks across Preston in a new shopping centre campaign.

It’s in line with the Fishergate shopping centre and you may have seen both Tom Craig ( 25 ) and Charika Channutapipat ( 28 ) take up residency in familiar places around Preston such as Avenham Park in a bid to promote the upcoming summer fashion.

Centre manager Keith Mitchell has these encouraging words of joy in response to such a worthwhile event and the unique connection with UCLAN,

“The Summer in the City campaign created by the students is fantastic with some brilliant locations chosen by the students that really show Preston at its finest. This growing link up with the university’s fashion department is a great way to harness and use those ideas and the enthusiasm of the students to help raise the profile of the centre and to enhance our marketing activity.”

This is clear evidence of a young person’s initiative when it comes to new and aspiring ideas. Enabling fashion students to promote both the latest fashion sense and the coolest places to hang out for young people in and around the city centre of Preston.

Keith has these closing words of enthusiasm and the excellent benefits the students will receive,

“The centre gets some real creativity and its online presence is boosted and in return the students on the course get to work in the real world and see first-hand how the retail sector works. The results have been impressive and we look forward to the relationship growing and developing.”
