Mark Radcliffe This October Appearing At The Grand Clitheroe

Apr, 28 2016

~We’re used to seeing certain well known radio presenters behind the mic in what can only  be described as a small room with very little ventilation and the only company you have is the guests on the show, the producer giving you the five - one signal and the many listeners which could be deemed as invisible yet they are an engaged audience who are both fans of the radio presenter and the music they play.

How would it be then if you were to take the well known radio presenter and place him or her into a bigger venue, stand still instead of sat down and project their  nuances of life and the stories they’ve gathered throughout the years to a vivid audience, where  they can  see the radio presenter and clap and laugh in appropriate places.

Since the 1980s Mark Radcliffe has been entertaining the listening public with his unique deliverance and cutting edge music. He has worked on BBC Radio 5, enjoyed a radio bond with former The Fall guitarist Marc Riley, broadcast shows on Radio 1 throughout the 1990s, joined Radio 2 in the early 21st century where he sought to co-host The Folk Show and in 2011 to the present day he presented an irreverent and smart show with Stuart Maconie on BBC Radio 6 Music.

As well as presenting segments of the annual summer music festival Glastonbury, Radcliffe has certainly been a predominant force of presenting talent for the past thirty years or so.

Now in 2016 he his set to embark on a new venture that sees him standing in front of the mic in a spoken word show that encapsulates his experiences and encounters with some of music’s biggest names as well as revealing his middle aged angst and his moments of ineptitude, which, we all suffer from at times.
