Cloudspotting Summer 2016

Cloudspotting Summer 2016

Feb, 16 2016

~It’s that time of the year again when music fans are planning and booking time off work for that all important season of festivals, :-  the summer. Ranging from the legendary Glastonbury to the rock and metal favourite, Download. How about something though a little closer to home that has been running for several years and absorbs the raw authentic feel of the laidback countryside.

Now in it’s fifth year this July, ‘Cloudspotting Festival’ has been a Lancastrian favourite for the local and long established music lovers in it’s popular community, in the North West of England.

It began  as a small music project that was conceived by a group of friends’ love of music at the Aspinall Arms at the heart of the Ribble Valley. Over time it became a credible and recognised annual music festival which  became pride and place in Stephen Park in Gisburn Forest, near Slaidburn.

This year it hopes to mirror it’s previous success which will bring in big  music acts such as King Creosote, Honeyfeet, Bossy Love, Kid Carpet, Cristobal and The Sea, Jeramiah Ferrari and Henge with more names to be announced over the next couple of weeks.

It is scheduled to take place over a three day period between July 29th and 31st 2016. There will be two live music stages, late night Djs, an outdoor food court, interactive arts, music workshops, cinema, a songs and stories stage, a beer festival, outdoor pursuits and a family and field theatre.

The Park itself is a treasure trove for young children and teens who wish to explore the rural outback. It also makes for a spectacular night sky in one of the country’s least light polluted areas.

Additionally, if you are a parent or guardian of a young child you will be pleased to know there are specially themed activities for infants too. These include :- workshops, scavenger hunts, storytelling, a lantern parade, forest school sessions, the Little Fluffy Clouds baby tent, The Fabularium outdoor performance company, and walkabout puppet act The Flying Buttresses Hodman and Sally.

Cost of tickets range from :- £109 ( adults ) £20 ( under 16s) £10 ( weekend car parking ticket) and £30 ( live-in vehicle). You can find more information on the music gig by visiting :- www.cloudspotting-festival.co.uk or log on to the festival’s Facebook page.

Make it a date for your diary :- July 29-31st 2016 and book early to avoid disappointment.
