Halle At Blackburn King Georges Hall. 29th April 2016

Jan, 21 2016

~When you think of spring it conjures up images of flowers blossoming, wildlife re-emerging and pleasant walks in the park with family and friends.

In Blackburn you can explore this great season by visiting its nearby walks like corporation park or listen to the quiet solitude of life in Ribchester which is near Blackburn.

On 29th April 2016 at 7.30pm the Blackburn King Georges Hall hollers spring from the rooftops with a momentous classical concert, The Halle.
It may not replicate the spring sounds in gentle parks but it will create valuable escapism from the daily grind of life.

Split into three parts, it will tell the story of Don Juan, the legendary fictional libertine who seduces many women hoping to find the perfect match . He fails and decides from there on in  he will never be successful and he allows himself to be slain in a dual. Composer  Strauss exposes  one of  the greatest most popular single movement tone poems each in a beautiful,  romantic way.

Transporting back to the previous season, Sibelius’s  wonderful wintry 'Violin Concerto' is the most popular in the  repertoire. It builds to a climatic crescendo until the energetic finale reaches it’s conclusive end.

Beethoven’s Symphony number five is the last of the classical pieces. It features many moving and atmospheric elements, including the iconic four note ‘fate’ motif.

Conductor Jamie Philips brings this three set classical concert to life in a dramatic and glorious way. Violin also comes courtesy of Elena Urioste.
