This Changes Everything. Climate Change Film. UCLAN. January 21st 2016

Jan, 14 2016

~Wouldn’t you agree that in the past twelve months all around the world we’ve seen the most extreme weather conditions. Tsunamis, typhoons, earthquakes and now the UK is becoming a victim to it with last December’s severe floods. Something, somewhere, somehow has to be stopped or a cause for such weather needs to be identified.

Last year a film was made ( 14th November 2015) that documented seven communities around the world with the proposition that we can seize the crisis of climate change to transform our failed economic system into something radically better.

Directed by Avi Lewis and written by Naomi Klein, ‘This changes everything’ is an 89 minute epic discovery revealing the vast challenge of climate change.

Seven portraits are under the spotlight, from Montana's Powder River Basin to the Alberta Tar Sands, from the coast of South India to Beijing and beyond.

The University of Central Lancashire ( UCLAN) are screening this feature film on January 21st 2016. Friends of the Earth and UCLAN Green Ladder will be in support of the film as will film actors and directors. Start time :- 6.30pm for an introduction and an overview of the film. Film initiation :- 7pm.

Writer Naomi Klein provides a powerful narration throughout. As the film progresses we hear Klein’s sharp insight as she examines the concept :-that we can seize the existential crisis of climate change to transform our failed economic system into something radically better.

‘This changes everything’ may even change your view on climate change and help you stay on a more greener, eco-friendly lifestyle.
