~We all, as humans, naturally desire to do what is good for our fellow man. It does, however, take a remarkable person to do that a little bit more. A ‘little’ is perhaps an underestimate of what a great man called Nicholas Winton did with his life.

Between March 13th -August 2nd 1939 Winton organized 8 transports to take children from Prague to new homes in Great Britain, and he kept quiet about it until his wife discovered a scrapbook documenting his unique mission in 1988.

In 2002 a gripping documentary was made which crystallised the courage and determination of this young English stockbroker  who fiercely fought to save, in total, 669 children.

On the 27th January 2016 The University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN)  will be screening ’The Power of Good :- Nicholas Winton’ as part of  ‘Holocaust Memorial Day’. It will be shown in the Mitchell and Kenyon cinema at the Foster Building (UCLAN) at 6.30pm with a short introduction, then the film will  commence at 7pm.

Directed by Matej Minac, written by Patrik Pass and Matej Minac and starring Joe Schlesinger, Karel Reisz and Hugo Morom, The Power of Good gives clear insight of a great man that can be shown to any audience from children to adults and it will move them all.
