Symphonie Fantastique Next Friday Jan 15th . Preston Guild Hall.

Jan, 7 2016

~Most people need to unwind after a busy day at work. Perhaps they find seeing a movie does justice to that. Maybe going  out for a meal with a few friends. The crem de la crem though has to be a visit to the theatre to watch a classical concert. This can be a romantic gesture or something relaxing to do with culturally minded people.

The good news is you could be doing the latter very soon. Appearing at the Preston Guild Hall on Friday 15th January ( yes, next week!) at 7.30pm is the  Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra presenting the Symphonie Fantastique.

Described as a delirious, psychedelic extravaganza composed by an obsessive young genius in opium - fuelled overdrive. Sounds like an average Friday night in Preston, right? Wrong.

You will be sent on a moving journey of strings, percussion and colour. Colour to light up a dark January. You will be enthralled by the magic these musicians will create.

Joshua Weilerstein is the conductor and sets the ball in motion with:-

Ligeti :- Concert Romanesc

Prokofiev :- Violin Concerto No.1

Berlioz :- Symphonie Fantastique.

Additionally violinist musician Ning Feng will be on hand for the concerto number one. He was a sheer triumph on the Orchestra’s 2014 China Tour and is set to repeat his melancholic musings for this outstanding and critically acclaimed classical concert.

Tickets are available at the box office by dialling :- 01772 80 44 40. Or contact the Guild Hall on :- 01772 80 44 40. You can also email the guild hall if you log in to info@prestonguildhall.co.uk .
