Leyland Health Mela Reflection
Sep, 14 2015
The annual Health Mela came round once again visiting the Academy at Worden School in Leyland on Saturday 12th September 2015.
There were many exhibitors showcasing their organisation throughout the day and additional health checks were provided for adults and young people. For the children the resident Magician Andy was on board for magic and intrigue and the bouncy castle was great fun, once the weather was on our side! The smoothie bike cycled round again and was regularly used throughout the day keeping the public active and raising health issues with the public too.
The thankyous come in droves so here they are complied:-
- The committee members and volunteers.
- The Blood Drop Team from LTHTR and Health Olympics.
- Resident magician Andy.
- Head of Academy at Worden Chris Catherall and his team from the Governors to children, teachers and parents and Mark Reed Director of Finances.
- The children providing the fruit for the smoothie bike.
- The School Head in directing the children.
- Finally Mellor’s from School Catering and the PTFA for drinks throughout the day.
The Health Mela attracts thousands every year many of whom may not know the best solution for their physical and mental health. The Mela can target this area and annually we see a rise in new visitors and young families with their children wanting to know and find the best antidote/ answer to their health concern or simply to have a fun day out whilst learning about important health matters.
The NFHW will be writing a separate letter to the school to thank them all. Sarifa Kabir ( secretary of NFHW ) will also be planning a trip into the school during an assembly session to thank the school personally for their contribution and being home for the Mela on Saturday 12th September 2015.
Thank you all once again for attending, participating, exhibiting or just coming along out of intrigue and curiosity. Your input is valid. Thankyou.
