The Simon And Garfunkel Story ( 50th Anniversary Tour)

Apr, 1 2015

Mrs. Robinson. Cecilia. Bridge over troubled water. Songs sound familiar? They were of course immortalised on stage and song by the supreme songwriting duo Simon and Garfunkel.

Yes. 1965 was where we saw this unique partnership come to life. Known for their folk hits, big ballads and fine musicianship this was a double act that was on a par with Lennon and Mcartney and they had the stage persona to match too.

Fifty years on and times have changed. The pair have reunited for comeback gigs and have strived to re-ignite the magic that was there in 1965.

On the 4th September  2015, Clitheroe’s The Grand  may not have the real thing but they’ve got what’s just as good. ‘The Simon and Garfunkel story’ ( 50th Anniversary Tour  )  sees two musicians taking on the role of Paul and Art and telling a tale built around the classic songs.  Fresh from London’s West End, a sold out UK tour and standing ovations every time. A live band will set the tone to a huge projection of photo’s and original film footage.

Tickets are priced at £16.50. There will be a £1.50 booking fee for transaction online, by phone or via the box office. Advance purchase of the ticket is more cost effective than paying on the door. If you are disabled, The Grand can make the required help if needed. For more information regarding terms and conditions email hello@thegrandvenue.co.uk or call 01200 421 599 to obtain tickets and any other query you may have.

So make  4th September 2015 a date in your cultural calendar. Doors open at 7pm for an evening not to be missed.  In the field of broadcasting, Radio 2 call it “fantastic” and in theatrical journals, The Stage have billed it  “authentic and exciting”.  For more information visit www.thesimonandgarfunkelstory.com
