Stagecoach Students Take on Prestigious Theatre.
Nov, 15 2021
When a child starts out for a life in theatre they may only dream of reaching an iconic stage known to many in the entertainment business.
Stagecoach is a well known performing arts training school. Each year they enrol groups of young ones who stay right up until their teenage years.
In 2020 Stagecoach missed out on allowing their students to grace the stage of the Shaftesbury Theatre in London’s West End due to the pandemic.
Earlier in 2021, Stagecoach students were given access to perform at the landmark theatre after an 18 month restriction. 160 students from 10 schools took part in the trial event which hailed the return of live theatre to stages across the UK.
Now on Sunday 21st November students from Stagecoach Chorley and Preston will finally get the real chance to impress audiences for a magical evening.
Briony Tanner, Senior Marketing Executive at Stagecoach expressed her joy ahead of the big show,
“ We are so excited to be able to hold this incredible event at the Shaftesbury Theatre again. We are so proud of the students, parents and teachers and all of the schools involved. Many are travelling many miles to London to take part. All of them have been rehearsing relentlessly to put on a fabulous show. It is such a pleasure to welcome everyone back through the doors to celebrate their hard work at the end of what has been a busy and sometimes a tough year”.
The students will collaborate with others across the UK and for some it could be their first time on the stage in two years.
For many of the further stage students this forthcoming event will be their last before they graduate to pursue a career in the performing arts sector and progress to higher education to study theatre and drama in 2022.
But they will never forget their humble beginnings. Their journey began when they first enrolled at Stagecoach. To gain an insight into the school please watch this short film:
Stagecoach is the UK’s largest network of performing arts schools, with more than 2,000 extra - curricular schools worldwide.
