Preston Band Continues Despite Low Funds

~Not all of us are blessed with the financial security in order to have or create the things we wish to have in our lives.

This is true of folk rock band ‘Dancing Dead’. The group are comprised of the following three members:-

  1. Carlo Squillino (vocalist, songwriter and guitar)
  2. Tom Costello (drummer and producer)
  3. Mark Bamber (guitarist and graphic designer)

The Ingol three piece have been recording their music on a low budget from one member’s garage and, despite poor equipment the band are refusing to let lack of money hold them back as lead vocalist Carlo admits:-

“We record from home as we are in a strict no budget situation. We use one low-tech mic for everything and make sure the music is still at its best possible potential. We are working class individuals who have never had any help with our music. We aren’t ashamed of this and believe everyone can and should make art despite financial circumstance”.

Their latest single ‘Dark of the Day’ is very much a sign of the times as it describes the isolation and loss we’re all currently experiencing.

Carlo continues to describes their mission as musicians and when they will return to  performing in public,

“Our goal is to reflect on the human condition through songwriting. We aim to be universal and poetic, becoming songwriters whom listeners with similar struggles can relate and identify with, and hopefully feel a little less alone. We hope to be on Preston’s music scene as soon as the pandemic ends. Starting with the Ferret, naturally.”

Their nine minute extended version of the song ‘Slippin’ Away’ is available on You Tube. The album ‘Wasteland’ is expected to be released later this year under independent label Bonfire Records.
