Shocking Theatre Show Set To Rock Preston

Shocking Theatre Show Set To Rock Preston

Mar, 20 2020

~At a time of unprecedented panic and absolute chaos, it’s vital that we, the general public, have something to look forward to, something we know we can attend  in approximately  six months time that will release us all from the captivity known as ‘corona’.

Originally billed for next Thursday 26th March, A Rock and Roll Suicide  is an autobiographical show from it’s creator Lee Mark Jones.

The show came to Preston as a work in progress in May 2019 as part of Lancashire Fringe Festival, but is set to return completed and updated after taking Edinburgh Fringe by storm. There, critics were split by the show with one calling it “Marmite with crack on”, and reviews ranging from one-star to five-star.

In A Rock ‘N’ Roll Suicide, Jones retraces his life as a nearly-rock star, including tales about the following six musicians:-

  1. Lemmy
  2. Slash
  3. Axl Rose
  4. Blondie
  5. Joey Ramone
  6. Joan Jett.

The story revolves around a man who comes to terms with himself after the diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder that, unknown to him, has defined his life.

Jones reveals the personal response he intends to create to the public domain,

“I intend to attract a new kind of audience which does not usually go to the theatre; an audience craving strange journeys of darkness, horror, suspense, and wonder. All these thrills we will provoke into life, in the flesh, breathing and bleeding on stage, and right in your face.”

A Rock ‘N’ Roll Suicide will be performed on Thursday 1st October  at The Ferret in Fylde Road. Support will come from local acoustic pop act, Masters of the Scene. Tickets are available from

Let's start planning our night out now while we can.
