David Carthy

After working for over twenty five years as a medical research scientist in London and The University of Manchester. I became the manager of the Occupational Health Service at The University of Manchester in 2012. At the end of 2017 I left full time employment to improve my work life balance to allow me time to get involved in community engagement and charity work.

I am currently working on a part tine basis as a Co-op Member Pioneer in Preston which involves getting people talking about what matters most in their local community. My role is to encourage community engagement and work with local charities, community groups and good causes etc. to help them identify and facilitate collaborative working. I am interested in finding out more about how to engage and support community groups and empowering people to get involved.
