Russell Hogarth is an Honorary Fellow, Community Ambassador and Social Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Central Lancashire.
Russell chairs and co-founded the National and International Pan-University Creative Communities Group (http://www.ccguk.org/).
He is a Fellow of the National Forum for Health and Wellbeing and an esteemed advisory member of the British Association of Social Workers, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a former company director for the Design in Mental Health Network.
Russell is a social entrepreneur mentor for UNLtd.
He is an active campaigner for social inclusion and equality and for a number of years he has chaired the Equality and Diversity conferences for the University of Central Lancashire.
Russell chairs the University of central Lancashire Honorary Fellow advisory group.
He is a trustee for Creativity Works Preston (http://creativityworkspreston.org.uk/), supporting excluded and disengaged young people in creative education. He is a former public engagement ambassador for the National Coordinating Centre for public engagement.
He has held advisory positions with the Higher Education funding Council for England, the College of Social Work and Skills for Care.
Russell is a University guest lecturer. His expertise as an independent advisor for Community Engagement in Higher Education and his experience in Health and Social care is now recognized both nationally and internationally.
His voluntary and community work has resulted in him attending meetings in the Department of Health, the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the European Parliament.
Russell has advised and been published with the Chief Social Worker for Adults, Department of Health London UK.
Russell’s area of special interest is creative teaching as a pathway to inclusion and accessible education and Macmillan Palgrave recently published his book Creative Education, Teaching and Learning.
He is actively involved in health and social care research and with colleagues has been published on a number of occasions.
Russell has led on a number of highly successful community involvement initiatives including the One in Four Mental Health Film Festival and the World Health organisation Mental Health day community event [the one in four is now the largest community led university film festival in the UK].
His fellow colleagues admire his great strength, passion and philanthropy and acknowledge the service he has done for the sustenance of humanity.
