Making A Mark - Preston Flag Market - 11/07/20

Jan, 31 2020

~A lot of artists are prepared to do work for free. They may respond to a charity organisation and create a portion of work willingly from the heart. Or they may take action when an invitation to portray their work as part of an event in a local city.

The latter as been true for The Making A Mark event which takes place annually on Preston’s Flag Market. This year, however they are expanding with paid opportunities available.

Making a Mark 2020,  will take place on Saturday 11 July, under the theme Changing World and this is very much a change with an introduction of payment for a series of artists.

One of the organisers from Oxheys Mill Studios – known as timsperspectiveart – said: “We are excited to have secured funding to allow us to offer a limited number of paid opportunities for artists, musicians and performers to be part of this year’s event.

This is a rare opportunity in Preston, and we are looking forward to seeing how Preston’s creative community interpret the call and respond. We like creative thinking so all mediums will be considered.”

Organisers have some of the best known creatives involved and they expect many experienced practitioners to apply. They do however stress that they wish to include those who have never been part of such an event before.

Oxheys Mill Studios gives us these reassuring words of encouragement,

“We have a track record of pushing boundaries and allowing new talent opportunity to emerge, and it all helps to create a special and unique atmosphere on the day. So get your creative hats on.”

The open call deadline is Friday 21 February. For full details, visit the website at the following address:-https://oxheysmillstudios.com/
