The Continental Book Club - Preston - 7.30pm - 9/12/19

~Longevity in life is something people can rely on. On a recreational level people forge strong friendships with others in order to build trust, communication and fun.

When a group has been established over a ten year period members have a fuller sense of appreciation for it and will devote considerable time and energy both to attend and to do the homework required for it.

One such group is The Continental Book Club. It has been meeting on the 2nd Monday of every month since 2009. At  each meeting books are either recommended, or people just say that they wish to read a certain book, so all those mentioned are put forward and everyone can have a vote.

The next meeting will be Monday 9th December 2019. Interested ones should meet in the snug at 7.30pm. All are welcomed and entry is free.

Since it’s inception ten years ago the group have discussed, in length, the following five authors,

1. Jane Austen
2. Sylvia Plath
3. Truman Capote
4.  Isabel Allende
5.  Kazuo Ishiguro

The Continental is located at South Meadow Lane, Preston. Close to Avenham and Miller Parks.
