Freedom Of Thre Moors - Darwen Library Theatre- 7pm- 8pm - 19/11/19
Nov, 15 2019
~The Darwen tower sits poised on Beacon Hill overlooking the town of Darwen. It was completed in 1898 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and also to celebrate the victory of the local people for the right to access the moor.
Much curiosity has been derived from the origins of the tower but little dramatisation has been made in response to it, until now.
On Tuesday 19th November 2019, Darwen Library Theatre is opening it’s doors for a one off special showing of two short films followed by a question and answer session with these leading pioneers in their field of work:-
- Local historians
- Filmmakers
- Creatives
National Heart Films and Beggars Belief Collective presents:-the Darwen Tower story -FREEDOM OF THE MOORS.
The short films were produced as part of a National Lottery Heritage bid to help support the vital restoration work Darwen Tower desperately needs.
