~Britain in the 1970’s. A country whose fate lied in a referendum with a soundtrack courtesy of bands like The Jam which enabled the angry young man a voice in the midst of a debate.
The Jam had the following members :-
- Paul Weller
- Steve Brookes
- Rick Buckler
- Dave Waller
- Bruce Foxton
They were known for their beat music, soul, rhythm and blues and psychedelic rock, as well as 1970s punk and new wave.
Their most notable hits included :-
- Down in the Tube Station at Midnight
- The Eton Rifles
- Going Underground
- Town Called Malice
In December 1982 the band decided to call it a day. This was front man Paul Weller’s decision as he wanted to see what he could do beyond the framework of ‘The Jam’.
