~Collaborations can definitely enhance your  productivity in the workplace. It has worked effectively within music and it  can increase your work potential within the media sector.

Rewind to 2007. The Digital Editors Network was first established. It became a  peer learning network for digital media innovators. Supported by UCLAN in Preston, home to the UK's oldest journalism programme and a member of the global Google News Initiative University Network.

Now fast forward to 2019. The Digital Editors Network is teaming up with the Google News Initiative to offer Northwest media professionals a Storytelling with Maps masterclass by Google teaching fellow Abigail Edge on 5 November hosted by the Media Innovation Studio at UCLAN.

Here are a series of essential things you will learn :-

  1. How to plot multiple data points in My Maps
  2. Find historical imagery in StreetView
  3. Explore how the new Google Earth tools can be used to tell timeline-based stories with Abigail.
  4. Look at the new Google Earth Studio, a timeline-based animation tool that brings Google Earth's satellite and 3D images to life.

Interested ones should arrive for 4.30pm to engage in a stimulating workshop and networking event, The formal programme will conclude at 6.30pm with a networking reception going until 7:30pm.
