~The 1970’s were all about vinyl, the 80’s were dominated by the cassette and the 1990’s brought in a new generation with the compact disc. Now it appears 40 years later the vinyl is making a comeback in music. More and more people have their own record player which means music shops are distributing an influx of records for music fans.

Every couple of months in Preston the ‘Masa Record Fair’ is held at Preston Markets. It’s an opportunity to browse or buy some excellent records ranging from Prince to David Bowie and some motown in between.

For a more varied mix, stallholders are also selling tapes, CD’S and any other music related item.

The next Masa Record Fair takes place on Saturday 5th October 2019 from 10am - 4pm. Cost of admission is free just come with a real interest in music and you’re sure to go away with something special.

Make a day of it and have some lunch at The Market Hall nearby.

Following the October Fair the next one will be Saturday 7th December 10am - 4pm for a full day of music buying pleasure.

The Preston Markets are found on Earl Street near the Harris Museum and Art Gallery.
