~On 25th May 1973 a seminal debut album was released by an English multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. A young Mike Oldfield composed the classic, well respected record ‘Tubular Bells’. It comprised of mostly instrumental music by interestingly it didn’t gain immediate success. It was only when The Exorcist was released December of that year that it gained momentum and sales of the record began to soar.

Now nearly 50 years later it remains an undisputed classic. You can experience the album in full as part of The Continental’s Classic Album Night Number 12.

It all takes place next Thursday 19th September at 8pm. Please make your way in the snug area of the pub to listen to the album in it’s entirety. Entrance is completely free.

Due to the haunting  harmonies resonating from Tubular Bells organisers have got the very best equipment so you can hear it at it’s very best. A high end audio system is kindly donated by Richer Sounds. In addition all the records you hear are provided by Action Records. You’re also encouraged to bring your own records too.
