Embroidery Session - Plug And Taps Venue - Preston - 2pm -4pm- 6/10/19

~Do you remember when you were at secondary school and the home economics class was so boring. Two hours felt like two years and you couldn’t wait till the bell rang for freedom.

Well now you’re an adult and away from that environment you have the option of rediscovering the subject that bored you but now it appears more interesting with the prospect of being creative.

I am referring to embroidery and as part of a third workshop collaboration with Make Do Drink they are proud to bring you a stitch, embroidery session hosted in partnership with RFB Textiles.

The workshop will take place on Sunday 6th October 2019 at The Plug and Taps venue on Lune Street Preston between the hours of 2pm -4pm.

Taught by experienced artist Roisin Brennan, a recent University of Central Lancashire Textile Graduate, who will happily show examples of her work which are created  from the human connection to the natural world to create simply stunning, unique designs.

The session will begin in a relaxed style with glass of craft beer from the ever changing selection at Plug and Taps. From there Roisin will instruct you in the following six ways:-

  1. Creating your own design
  2.  How to ice dye fabric to create the perfect lunar inspired backdrops
  3.  Simple stitching techniques
  4.  Design placement
  5.  Perfect colour selections
  6. How to build up your design using beads, buttons and threads.

The class will last two hours but unlike your  secondary school experience it will be an enjoyable two hours with the end result being something quite marvellous that you can appreciate and hang with pride. The basic instructions you will learn will help you to continue this skill at home.

You can book tickets for the day by visiting the following website :-
