~Creative people who work behind the scenes barely get a look in. Consider the University setting, perhaps it’s the props man who always has to paint the background  for an important scene. In music it could be the considerate lady who is helping to tune the inexperienced musician’s guitar. In the media context it could be the veteran photographer  who  simply inspects the dark room on a weekly basis.

All these things take place for the benefit of young people but what if these professional people are yearning to exhibit their own work instead of tirelessly helping others.

‘Perception 2019’ is a new exhibition being staged at UCLAN which puts the spotlight on the technicians who are more accustomed to assisting student and academics from the Faculty of Culture and the Creative Industries.

It will take place from Tuesday 24th September - Friday 27th September at UCLAN’S PR1 Gallery, Victoria Building, Preston Campus, between the hours of 9am - 5pm.

Work on display will cover a range of disciplines including:-

  •
  • Printmaking
  • Photography
  • Surface pattern
  • Ceramics
  • Model making
  • Illustration
  • Fine art
  • Sound recording
  • 3D
  • Sculpture.

Please note there is an age suitability for young adults aged 14+. No booking is required and the event is free to attend. You may also wish to attend the Preview evening which takes place on Friday 20 September at  5.00pm.

Experience an exhibition where the creative ones are no longer in the shadows:-
