~Our C.V. gives an employee an overall insight into the work we have been doing over a considerable period of months and years. Most of us would admit to several years in education, a standard job and possible voluntary work. But for two great established poets their resume is quiet unique. Let’s have a look at the facts :-

Louise Fazackerly

  • A professional poet and theatre maker based in the north of England.
  • Appeared on BBC1 television and BBC radio 3 and 4 as well as BBC Lancashire and BBC Manchester.
  • Blogged for The Guardian and appeared in the Daily Mirror.
  • Been described as ‘a great performer’ by Will Self and ‘a class act...we love her and so will you’ John Cooper Clarke.

Martin Domleo

  • Been short-listed in four international poetry competitions, including two poems in the 2018 Bridport Prize.
  •  Poem Sunderland Point won the Dickens Two-Hundred Writing Prize in 2012.
  • Has had six books published - three collections of poetry, two novellas and a novel. Latest novella The Rest Is Silence has been translated into Chinese and published in China.
  • His illustrated narrative poem The Desk, which he self-published in 2006, remains among his favourite works.
  • A founder member of Damson Poets, he enjoys a wide spectrum of interests, including painting in oils.

That last point is of particular interest as both Louise and Martin will be performing their work at the next Damson Poets night on Wednesday 28th August 2019 from 7.30pm.

The evening will take place in the Snug at The New Continental, South Meadow Lane, Preston.

In addition to Louise and Martin reading their work there will also be a chance for 12 open mic slots for people to sign up for on the night. Each slot is a maximum of 5 minutes.

Admission is completely free with the night concluding at 9.30pm. Please contact Terry at tsqdor@hotmail.com for any further information.
Incorporate this excellent evening into your C.V. and be inspired by those that have poetry experience:-
