~The definition of the word  coworking :- the use of an office or other working environment by people who are self-employed or working for different employers, typically so as to SHARE equipment, ideas, and knowledge.

Notice the emphasis on the word ‘SHARE’. This is exactly what defines the experience of a coworking environment. Staff who will readily help and assist other colleagues in a friendly and supportive way.

Friday 9th August is International Coworking Day and events up and down the country are celebrating this feel good work ethic. Society 1 on 9-10 Cross Street, Preston are staging theirs between the hours of 9am till 4 ‘o clock in the afternoon.

The event is designed to promote coworking and the opportunity to work with staff completely free. You may have walked past the building with little or no knowledge about what goes on at Society 1. This free event will help you learn more.

Coworking Day is an annual celebration to commemorate the anniversary of the day Brad Neuberg first brought modern-day coworking into the world. This dates back to San Francisco, 2005. His concept was to combine the independence of freelancing with the structure and community of an office space. Nearly fifteen years later and  his idea is on an international level.
