~You may be familiar with Saturday night television shows such as ‘The X - Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. But did you know that some of those acts on those programmes actually started life in entertainment at least 20 years ago. They would have played the pub circuits for a couple of decades then finally they thought “I’m gonna hit the big time!”

But for other people they have decided not to go on those programmes and have gained a more loyal following on a local level, instead of a national one.

It’s local talent from cities like Preston that develop strong community links and are vital in keeping both music live and also gain a sense of a appreciation from perhaps a music student at UCLAN or a mature couple out in the week looking for some relaxing escapism.

Which brings us to  the All - New Continental Open Mic Night which takes place on the first Thursday of every month. The next session will be 2nd May. It’s free entry and all are welcome.

You could be a vocalist, musician, stand up comedian or poet. The floor is simply yours to enjoy at your leisure!

Following the 2nd May come the next four nights you may wish to jot down:-

• 1st  August 
• 5th September
