~It’s that time of year again when houses get their annual spring clean. But did you know open air spaces such as parks and nature reserves also benefit greatly by having an annual tidy up?

This Saturday 6th April 2019 Fishwick Local Nature Reserve on London Road, Preston are recruiting physically active volunteers to help clean up the area.

The time allocated for the clean will be 10am - 12pm. Entrance is free and interested ones are asked to meet at the riverside car park, Watery Lane ( rear of The Shawes Arms pub)

The work assigned is part  of the national Keep Britain Tidy Spring Clean and volunteers will be participating in  a litter pick which will consider the long stretch of the Guild Wheel.

Eager beavers will be targeting the roadside verges and entrances to the Fishwick Nature Reserve in Fishwick Bottoms. By separating most of the recyclables, half of what is collected doesn't have to go to landfill.

This event is organised by Preston City Council and all equipment is provided.

Why not do your bit to help make areas open to the general public neat and tidy so that children AND adults can enjoy it :-
