World Poetry Day - UCLAN - 7.30pm - 9.30pm - 21/3/19

Mar, 19 2019

~Twenty years ago an event began which was first adopted by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). It helped to promote reading and creative writing and encouraged others to share in this excellent form of expression.

Now in 2019 “World Poetry Day” continues to touch people’s lives all around the world with literary gems and rhyming stanzas.

The University of Central Lancashire will be celebrating it in style this Thursday 21st March at the Livesey House Café in the Preston Campus between the hours of 7.30pm - 9.30pm.

The event will be in association with the Damson Poets and the Confucius Centre. It’s an ideal opportunity to engage in the open mic session or simply to listen to a  wide selection of experienced and amateur performance poets. Please note :- this event is catered for adults aged 18+ only.

Poetry belongs to every society, place and culture, in oral traditions as well as written, appealing to our shared love of creativity and imagination. Please come along and celebrate this most human form of communication.
