UCLAN is well reported to enrol a number of foreign students every year. As early as Spring young and mature students from overseas are considering a course at UCLAN. This has helped to garner it’s reputation as a popular and successful university on an international level.

It would seem apt then that six months prior to the new term a two hour event is planned which takes in to account two countries that have no doubt played their part in making UCLAN what it is today.

‘Concert and Lecture on Russian  Music and Eurasian Philosophy’ is taking place this Friday March 1st between 12pm -2pm at UCLAN’S Lecture Theatre TV1, Adelphi Building, Preston Campus.

It will comprise of two renowned scholars and musicians, Dr Javier Ares Yebra from Spain and UCLan lecturer in Russian Dr Elena Artamonova, giving a concert for guitar and viola.

Following the performance comes a lecture by Dr Yebra discussing famous Russian musical figures of the 20 century, who emigrated from Russia after the Bolshevik revolution.

The event is free to attend and no booking is required.

Experience a unique musical repertoire and a fascinating talk on Russian history
