~34 years ago a hit single was released by American band Miami Sound Machine.With lead vocalist Gloria Estefan, the group created a feel good  Cuban sound. But it was their 1985 hit single which defined their legacy. ‘Conga’ was a worldwide smash hit record.

Now in 2019 their sound and hit record has defined parties over the last three decades. It has even become a signature  in the percussion element of song.

On Friday February 8th from 6.30pm - 8pm you can take part in Conga Roots. Based at UCLAN’S Media Factory Room 035 Preston Campus, the short course will teach interested ones basis conga drumming techniques through the playing of traditional patterns.

Local community music practitioner and instrumental teacher Ryan Dixon will guide you on how to drum and how to improve. Please note :- the course invites all levels of ability whether it complete beginner or absolute expert. In addition, instruments will be provided on the evening.

Cost of tutorial is £30 for all 6 sessions. There will be three sessions in February and three in March.
