Ogum - A Dance Of Transformation - UCLAN - 10am - 12pm- 26/1/19
Jan, 22 2019
~These days if you saw a man with a blacksmith’s hammer and a warrior’s sword on the city streets you would contact the police immediately and alert others in the area.
There is, however a more appealing interpretation to the above scenario. A dance workshop will soon take place which lifts aspects of Ogum, the candomble deity who takes on the form of the opening sentence.
Ogum - A Dance of Transformation initiates this Saturday January 26th between the hours of 10am - 12pm ay UCLAN’S Media Factory, Room 226, Preston Campus.
Community dance practitioner Anna James will direct the morning’s proceedings which will successfully interpret the sequence of Ogum mentioned earlier.
The workshop is £3 admission upon entry, open to all ages with the invitation extended to everyone regardless of your ability or experience.
It is delivered in a fun and entertaining way.
By the 12pm closure you may feel your skills are advanced compared to those in the group. If this is the case, why not sign up to perform during the Worldwise Samba Drummers showcase at UCLAN later in the year.
Please note :- if children want to join in the fun they must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Take time out of your busy schedule and do something a little different this coming weekend :-
