~Pop star Robbie Williams recently sang about Partying like A Russian on his September 2016 release. But there is a cross continental interpretation behind Robbie’s hit single.

The Russians are renowned for their partying, so too are the British. Imagine if the two countries combined and delivered a soundtrack which would be in stark contrast to the concept behind Robbie’s flamboyant track.

‘A Concert of Russian and Western European Music’ is making it’s way to UCLAN’S Adelphi Building tomorrow afternoon ( Wednesday January 16th ) between the hours of 3.30pm-5pm.

It will be a classical concert and will include works by Sergei Prokofiev, Anton Hoffmeister, Alfred Schnittke, Beethoven and Edison Denisov for flute, violin, and viola. The session will conclude with a lively question and answer discussion.

Here is a brief overview of three of the musicians expected to perform on the day :-

  • Since her concerto debut in 2012 with Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Lana Trotovšek has appeared with some of the finest orchestras.
  •  Boris Bizjak has established himself as one of the most versatile flautists and violist
  • Dr Elena Artamonova has performed at prestigious concert venues and international festivals in the UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands., Switzerland, Russia, South Korea and the USA.

The event is free to attend and no booking is required just come with an open mind and one which is freely engaged to the beautiful orchestral sounds of both Russian and English classical pieces.
