~Blackburn College is a  renowned educational institution for enrolling students in creative studies. Courses ranging from media to fine art help students discover their potential and when they have gained sufficient knowledge and confidence they take their work to a wider public domain.

It would seem appropriate then to have Blackburn College as a location   for an event which will enable creative individuals to have the essential tools and know how to run their business successfully.

For one week each November, thousands of events and competitions in 170 countries inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity. Connections are soon established with potential collaborators, mentors and even investors who will seek ways to strengthen a creative practice.

Powered by the Kauffman Foundation, the initiative is supported by dozens of world leaders and a network of more than 15,000 partner organizations. As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018, Creative Lancashire are teaming up  with Blackburn College to introduce  the latest in the  industry panels discussions with creative business leaders and practitioners to provide the unique perspectives on working in the creative industries with guest speakers ranging from freelancers and recently launched businesses to established agency directors and creative producers.

Here is a complete overview of the panel members :-

  • Jak Spedding, photographer specialising in advertising, product, food and now branching out into film (Jak Spedding Photography)
  • Marco Vaghetti, Founder and Creative Director of LANX, an English shoe company, with international influence (LANX Footwear)
  • Martin Madows, Creative Director at Workhouse - a leading nothwest agency (Workhouse Marketing)
  • Susanna Boccaccio, Director of Brilliant Tress Media - an RTS Award winning television, film and production company (Brilliant Trees Media)

The panel will be moderated by Ed Matthews-Gentle, programme leader at Creative Lancashire.

The event is catered for students who are considering long term employment in a creative practice, businesses looking to engage with young creative talent and anyone interested in finding out more about the route to a creative career and the related job roles.
