~Many well known musicians start out ok but time and unforeseen occurrence strikes them and they’re gone. They leave behind  a fantastic back catalogue of music.

That was very much the case of The Carpenters. The band started out in 1969 but their longevity in  music  was cut short when singer and front woman of the band Karen Carpenter died in 1983 due to heart failure because of her anorexia.

35 years later and their music sounds just as spine -tingling perfect as it did back in the 1970’s and thanks to a concert style production incorporating all of The Carpenters classic  songs,  new and  old fans are introduced to this excellent show.

‘The Carpenters Story’ will be performed at The Preston Guild Hall on Thursday 8th November 2018. The evening begins at 7.30pm and concludes at 10.30pm. Tickets are priced £25 and £24 for concessions. You can book tickets by visiting the following website :- Preston Guild Hall - The Carpenters Story.

Experienced professional Claire Furley will play Karen as she demonstrates her outstanding vocal range. Phil Aldridge will  direct the evening, he’ll also be take to the piano throughout the set. In addition, Richard Carpenter’s original orchestral arrangements from live musicians will provide the excellent musical accompaniment. To complete the set a stage-wide backdrop  state-of-the-art video projection will really bring the whole evening into life.

If you’re not familiar with the area, the Preston Guild Hall can be found on Lancaster Road, postcode  PR1 1HT.
