Preston People's Choir - UCLAN - 7- 9pm- 31/7/18

Jul, 31 2018

~It’s been proven that singing can do wonders for your physical and mental health. If you’re a child you may sing at school. If you’re an adult you may be part of a band or visit the local pub once a week to participate in some light hearted karaoke fun. Despite all those group involvements for some, singing can be a solitary thing. If you do have enduring mental health problems the thought of singing in a collective group may overwhelm you. Or you could be a retired actor who sadly feels disheartened by the spotlight experience and desires a more quieter life.

Whatever your circumstances anyone of us at any point in our lives has the freedom to enjoy singing and, if we’re able, to join an organised group that puts on performances when practice is perfected.

This evening you could join a friendly choir which enjoys singing songs from around the world. Preston People’s Choir is meeting 7pm -9pm at UCLAN’s Media Factory.

It is a relaxed environment in which members don’t need to read music and they welcome all with no audition required and no previous experience needed.

It is £3 - £6 per session based on ability to pay, discounts available for booking multiple sessions. The evening is open to UCLan staff & students and members of the public. This is part of UCLan’s Something for Everyone project. For further information  call 01772 894798 https://www.uclan.ac.uk/news/events.php.

Step out of your comfort zone and try something new this summer :-
